In the last few weeks Apple have released a few different products but what’s interested me the most is the all-new 12-inch MacBook, which according to Apple is meant to redefine the notebook and with the way it looks and feels it’s definitely accomplished that. However don’t think the MacBook’s all about style and design as it definitely has the performance and specs to beat any of its competitors on the market.
When using an Apple device whether that be a MacBook, iMac or iPad the first thing you notice is the bright, rich, detailed retina display and it’s no different when using the new 12inch MacBook as its display has a resolution of 2304 x 1440 pixels giving it an ultra-sharp picture. But undoubtedly the most incredible thing about the all the new MacBook is the thinness, as it comes in at just 13.1mm high making it Apple's thinnest laptop to date but not only that unbelievably it only weighs 900g. But what about technical specs I hear you say well, the 12inch MacBook comes in two different options you can get one with a 1.1 GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor which comes with 8GB of memory, 256GB of flash storage and an Intel HD Graphics 5300 card. Or if you need more power and performance you can go for the more expensive 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor which has the same Intel HD Graphics 5300 card and 8GB of memory but has 512GB of flash storage.
But what are the new key features of the MacBook, well firstly there’s the much talked about Force Touch feature, which measures the degree of pressure you’ve applied to the trackpad with idea being you can use it to expand the content you're looking for. Apple have also retooled the keyboard which is a big change, as the keys are now slightly bigger than those on current Mac laptops due to a new butterfly mechanism beneath each key. Something all Apple users will appreciate is the new battery, which has 35% more capacity than previous models allowing you more time unplugged. The only drawback really of the MacBook is due to the consequence of it being so thin which is the lack of ports, there is only a headphone jack and a USB Type-C port, so you’re going to need to buy an adapter to connect anything else.

One of the coolest things about the new MacBook is the fact it’s available in three different colours silver, gold and space grey like the iPhone and iPad, and having seen it which every colour you choose it will look fantastic. But what about the bottom line the cost, well the base model will cost you £1,049 which is about right for an Apple Laptop but the upgraded model with better specs will be £1,299, which is a bit expensive but you know what you get with Apple. In all this is a superb device that’s been designed incredibly well and is more functional and intuitive than ever before, but what do you think?
